The heart is a mysterious organ. In many languages, heart is the word we use to speak of essence, inner feeling, and connectedness in love. Heart is where we come from. The spaces of the heart are vast and we are each on a journey of discovery, exploring what is essential, learning how to love and be at home in the world.
When we love people, it is as if we hold them in our hearts and treasure them. The heart becomes a treasure chest, a temple filled with magic song. In the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, Shiva describes 112 yuktis or gateways into spiritual experience that are available to humans. This one invites us to listen in to the mantras that are always pulsing in the center and know the heart in its essence.
