Burnout happens when our body and mind don’t have adequate recovery from all the action. Pushing on the gas pedal for extended periods can leave us buzzing with exhaustion and yet unable to rest deeply. And let’s face it, it’s impossible to be excited about life when we are depleted and exhausted, no matter how much you love what you do. Deep Recovery can help you rest, release, and recharge so you can go back home feeling rejuvenated and gain the skills to help maintain this state of inner resourcefulness.
Meditation is part of our survival instincts, a way to access rest and relaxation deeper than sleep. In this weekend workshop, you will learn about a variety of doorways into meditation that have proved useful for people living in the modern world, who have busy, responsible lives.
There are thousands of different techniques of meditation. We will explore several that have been extensively researched scientifically, are pleasurable and effortless to practice, and can be easily done at home.
We have found that everyone can meditate. It is a matter of accommodating your individuality. We will show you how to modify techniques to suit your nature. We will also spend some time practicing how to share the gift of meditation with others.
About Esalen Institute
Esalen is a place that is one of a kind… 120 acres of fertile land perched between mountain and ocean, with hot mineral springs gushing out of a seaside cliff. The delicate Big Sur air of a late May afternoon, the midnight mist of July, the drenching February rain. There are October nights so clear the Milky Way lights your walk along the darkened garden path. And always, the sound of the sea, reminding you you’re one part of something much bigger.
And then there are the people — the people who live there and love the land. The philosophers and sociologists and theologians and psychologists and artists and dancers and writers who each have something unique to teach us about what it means to be human. And the 750,000 more who have come from all over the world for the inspiration, intellectual freedom, and opportunity to explore the deepest self as part of a community of seekers.
They come to meditate, they come to dance, they come to connect. To create, to question, to reflect. To find clarity. And they leave changed, and ready to change the world.

Dr. Mayya Shveygert is a meditation coach, an entrepreneur, a Mom of two, and an Executive Director at The Radiance Sutras School of Meditation.
